Worship plays a central role at Four Winds Christian Fellowship. Psalm 100:4 says, "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with Praise! We desire to draw closer to Him through worship, and to be made more like Him while abiding in His presence.
Four Winds worship is currently lead by three worship leaders: Marty Miller, Matt Donahue, and Mitch Daly
Our musical "style" is quite diverse. We treasure the depth of the hymns, and the freshness of contemporary worship.
Our Core Values:
- To grow in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading and our obedience to His leading.
- To offer God the praise and worship that He is worthy of.
- To rise to a higher level of musical skill and ability in our worship.
- To work toward the eventual goal of incorporating praise and intercession into our worship times.
- To work toward the establishment of a house of prayer and worship in the Marshall Michigan area.
Marty Miller's Bio
I received Jesus Christ
when I was twenty years old. This radically changed my life. My conversion was preceded by a period of about 1 ½ years of struggle where I vacillated between destructive habits and what I was learning by reading the scriptures.
I’m an example of someone who was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I got fed up with the life that I was living and as a result I finally gave it all to God. At this point in time it seemed to me that the Lord moved heaven and earth to get me into the correct place and with the correct people that he wanted me to be with. I was told about an inner city Christian rally happening every week in Battle Creek Michigan. A person that I became acquainted with that was involved in the rally learned that I played the guitar. He suggested that I should bring it with me to the first rally that I was going to attend. I walked into the meeting totting my guitar and was immediately told to sit on the floor in the middle of the room with others guitarists that were already there. This was my start in the Worship Ministry.
This rally eventually became a church which is now known as Victory Life Church in Battle Creek Michigan. I spent many good years there and was almost constantly involved with the worship ministry as a team member and eventually as the Worship leader of the church. Since this time the Lord has moved me on to several other locations where I have been involved in the worship teams of Athens Christian Center in Athens Michigan and now at Four Winds Christian Fellowship in Marshall Michigan. One of the greatest blessings that God has ever given me is to allow me to meet and know and to work with so many of His children in the places that He’s called me to go. I am one of the truly blessed.
Sincerely,
Marty Miller.
Matt Donahue's Bio
Hey guys,
I grew up a "PK" and was saved at a very young age. I have always had a passion for music, and God turned that passion into a passion for worship. Now, "just playing music" is completely unsatisfying. It is my desire to really enter the Throne Room during worship and with the angels sing "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!"
My background in church worship is really the result of older worship leaders taking the time to mentor me. I started playing the guitar around the age seven, and somewhere around the age of twelve one of our Wednesday night worship leaders, Jeff Minnear invited me to play on the team with him. I hit more wrong notes than right one's, but this was the beginning of serving in a worship team for me. A couple years after that, one of our Sunday worship leaders at the time, Walt Edwardson took me under his wing and taught me much about how to flow and play with a band.
Today, I am passionate about leading worship. The Lord has put a desire in my heart to release a new breed of worship: worship that marries the contemporary with the classical. It is my desire to train up an army of worshipers where electric guitarist's and violinist's play together in perfect symphony and are able to flow together into prophetic worship.
Come let's worship together!
Sincerely,
Matt Donahue.
Mitch Daly's Bio
Heya. I have been a part of church since I was very little. My mom would take me every Sunday, but it wasn’t ever really real to me. I ended up going to four winds Christian fellowship because of a girl. We didn’t last, but my relationship with God did.
My introduction to worship was more as a support role. I started hanging out with Matt Donahue, (the guy to the left of me in this list), who was interested in having me play bass for him. I did that for a few years and after a while, Matt went off to MorningStar School of Ministry and Justin Mitchell, a pastor of another church along with his flock joined our church. I watched his leadership in worship and started to feel moved to lead as well. He helped me get the hang of it. Marty Miller (the guy even farther left of me in the list) then became the church’s next worship leader, and we would switch off leading one week to the next.
My goal in worship is to develop intimacy with the Lord and to lift His name up. I go about it in a number of ways meaning slow songs or up-beat or whatever the need be. I have been working on writing songs, but they tend to be more of a testimony than a praise and worship kind of thing. I hope to share my heart with you as we worship Him and bring Him praise.
